Nothing personal is collected — so there's nothing to sell, leak, or consent away.
What the apps actually use
The EWW-niverse app uses two services, nothing more: Firebase anonymous authentication (an anonymous ID so progress saves on the device — no personal login) and RevenueCat (to manage the one-time Full Lab Pass). Slime or Bye is simpler still — no sign-in at all (progress saves only on the device) plus RevenueCat for one-time purchases. What apps do you make, and what's the difference?
Two. The EWW-niverse app is a specimen-classification game — scan, classify and master 234 specimens across three field guides. Slime or Bye is a gross-science quiz show — answer Dr. Icky's questions, survive the round, collect specimen cards and earn badges. Both share the same brand, the same real science, and the same no-ads, no-tracking, no-accounts design.
What age are the apps designed for?
Curious kids roughly 7–12. EWW-niverse is best for ages 9–12; Slime or Bye is a Designed-for-Families title for ages 7–12. The content is gross but never violent, never sexual, and always grounded in real science. The books and both apps follow the same standard.
What platforms are they on?
The EWW-niverse app is live on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad. Slime or Bye is launching on the Apple App Store and Google Play, for iPhone, iPad and Android.
What data do the apps collect about my child?
None that identifies them. EWW-niverse uses anonymous sign-in (no name, email, or password) so progress saves on the device, plus a purchase manager (RevenueCat) for the one-time unlock. Slime or Bye has no sign-in at all — progress saves only in on-device storage — and uses RevenueCat for one-time purchases. Neither app has analytics, tracking, advertising, or any database of personal child information.
Does my child need an account or my email?
No. Neither app has accounts and no email is required to play. Your child can use the free content without entering any personal information at all.
Is there a subscription?
No subscriptions in either app — ever. EWW-niverse is free with an optional one-time Full Lab Pass. Slime or Bye is free to start, with optional one-time quiz-pack purchases and an unlock-everything bundle. You pay once, it lasts forever, with no recurring charges.
How are purchases handled, and can my child buy things by accident?
All purchases are one-time and processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play and RevenueCat — we never see or store your payment details. In Slime or Bye, a parent gate (a maths challenge) sits in front of every purchase, on top of the device's own purchase authentication. EWW-niverse's purchases use Apple's standard purchase authentication.
Are there ads or social features?
No ads, no social feeds, no chat, no comments, and no user-generated content in either app. There is nothing for your child to post and no strangers for them to encounter.
Is the science accurate?
Yes. Every creature, fact, and figure is verified. Dr. Icky does not traffic in exaggeration — the real facts are already more than sufficient.
